MADE has commissioned artist Rich White to create an installation at The Public in West Bromwich, as part of ‘The Art of Architecture’ exhibition, running from 27th January to 20th May 2012.

Rich’s work involves physically altering (or appearing to alter) existing architecture in public and exhibition spaces. These architectural interventions are developed specifically for their location through research and site visits; responding to the architecture, history and current happenings in the area.

Rich’s proposal for the commission will use the materials that The Public throws away, the leftover materials from the installation of the Art of Architecture show, plus materials and objects donated by people who visit (and who don't want to visit) The Public, He will build a sculpture (or sculptures) in response to feedback from passers-by about The Public and its environs.

The exhibition will be open to to visitors, and Rich will be creating the work from the 13th-15th February, with an opening of the completed work on the 15th February.
