| Gaming the Tibby nominated for its 4th Award |
|
Computer gaming technology was used to involve local people in the regeneration of open land in the centre of Tibbington Estate, Tipton. Participants were resident young people not involved in education, employment or training. MADE commissioned DNA to develop an interactive, accurate, virtual 3D map of the heart of the estate, using existing computer games technology. This included ‘tools’ for participants to develop and illustrate their visions for the space’s future use. ‘Gaming the Tibby’ was part of MADE’s Creative Communities Programme to create models of good practice and support regeneration teams working with artists and local communities. The programme was funded by Arts Council West Midlands and CABE.
