Our Leamore, Our Goscote, Our Walsall
Walsall primary school pupils are having fun after-school while learning more about their local area. So far, they have donned white gloves to handle local archive material, become urban explorers along the Wyrley & Esssington canal, and carried out oral history interviews with residents . This term they will be putting on a play, working with a poet on local dialects, and helping an architect design new housing. This demonstration project is being funded through MLA (Museums Libraries and Archives) West Midlands and is supported by Walsall’s Local History Centre and Walsall Housing Group.
