As part of the ongoing masterplanning project for the Churchfields area of Kidderminster, MADE organised consultation with the people of Kidderminster in a number of different ways to ensure that all voices are heard.

Working alongside K4 Architects and Wyre Forest District Council, MADE created a temporary design studio and provided workspace and materials for 3 architecture graduates student interns to create a model of Kidderminster.  The model was first used at the council's consultation event with Wyre Forest District Council and was also used as part of the community consultation event which was held in an empty shop unit at the end of November.

Residents were invited to drop in to the 'pop-up shop' which was open for 2 days and have their say. They were encouraged to leave feedback, ask questions and think about how their town could be improved. Nearly 100 people dropped into the pop-up shop with an overwhelming amount of constructive comment and reaction.

MADE created a blog to document the project, in particular providing a discussion platform for local residents to comment and leave feedback if they were unable to attend the consultation in person, or to continue the conversation if they have thoughts and ideas after the consultation event had finished. Since its launch in mid-November, www.changingchurchfields.co.uk received 700 views within its first month highlighting the importance of an online presence to support consultation events.

The results of the consultation events will inflence and inform the masterplan as it is developed.
