Officers from Solihull Council stepped out into a chilly Leamington town centre recently in the first session of a design training programme supported by MADE.

Planners, housing officers and highways engineers were all represented at the seminar which explored why design is important and the qualities of successful places.  MADE expert panel member Joe Holyoak led this session.

Paul Watson, Strategic Director for Regeneration & Development at Solihull MBC said, "We are pleased that MADE’s approach has helped us roll out training across a variety of disciplines – transport engineering, housing strategy, landscape architecture, etc – as well as to planning professionals so we can together better design & manage the public realm in Solihull."

Future sessions will cover context and infill, design of housing developments and streets and the public realm.  For information on working with MADE on in-house training programmes contact Bianca on 0121 348 7980
