MADE is working with Wrye Forest District Council on a masterplan for the Churchfields area of Kidderminster. Our Flexible model of procurement, using our expert panel and a studio of graduates, leaves the council officers in charge, builds internal capacity and allows greater flexibility.

At a time when various publicly funded bodies are closing down a lot of people are asking about the future of MADE

We do face a challenge raising income to support our many and varied activities, but we have a detailed and ambitious plan to develop MADE’s services and diversify our income.

We have been talking to all the local authorities in the West Midlands and have received a very positive response. As a result of feedback from these meetings we have framed a new offer to local authorities based on promoting ‘local design initiatives’. Details here.

On top of this MADE is applying to European and charitable funds to support our work. We are expanding our training offer, building on our success leading the urban design summer school. We will also be calling on the private sector to show their commitment to design quality by supporting MADE.

“As an independent charity MADE cannot be abolished,” says Interim Chief Executive, David Tittle, “in fact we are precisely the type of organisation, involving the industry, working locally, which should thrive in the current political landscape. Time of change are times of opportunity so we are all optimistic about the future.”
