With public and private sector teams reduced due to spending cuts and a sluggish economy, its important to make sure that all staff have the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to ensure better quality, high value, sustainable development.

MADE has teamed up with our friends at Urban Design London (UDL) to bring their highly successful training programme to the Midlands. UDL which is a not-for-profit organisation hosted by Transport for London and supported by the London Boroughs has been developing and refining its training programme for over five years.  Thousands of planners, transport planners, regeneration and housing professionals have attended its courses in the capital.  Now they will be available in Birmingham.

During October and November MADE will be offering 3-day foundation courses in urban design and placemaking for planners, transport engineers and housing designers.  The programme starts with a one-day introduction to urban design on 4th October.  The programme then splits into three streams: planning, streets and housing design for two more one-day sessions.

We will be drawing on UDLs experienced trainers and adding our own from the region including Phil Jones, Geoff Wright and David Birkbeck of Design for Homes.

Knowing how stretched budgets are, the price for each day’s training has been held to a very affordable £95, and you can come to all three days for just £250.

Full details will be available shortly, so keep checking the website or register your interest here.
